Spring has brought both change and clarity to our local market. Some sellers are seeing competing bids on their properties which have led to modest price gains. Buyers have fewer options from which to choose in many submarkets. Headlines and sound bites can often mask regional variability. With fewer distressed properties selling, prices are effectively “melting up” due to less downward pressure. May looked pretty good all around.
New Listings in the state of Georgia decreased 13.4 percent to 11,972. Pending Sales were up 32.5 percent to 10,117. Inventory levels shrank 31.4 percent to 49,049 units.
Prices moved higher. The Median Sales Price increased 1.8 percent to $109,900. Days on Market was down 7.6 percent to 85 days. The supply-demand balance stabilized as Months Supply of Inventory was down 44.0 percent to 6.7 months.
In economic news, May's jobs report was disappointing, and there's a growing concern about the pace of domestic growth. Last month was also unsettling for investors, prompting some to hunt for better returns in the housing market. This forces other consumers up the price ladder. In politics, the Senate approved a 60-day National Flood Insurance Program extension. But with campaign season upon us, major housing-related bills or policy shifts are unlikely.

A Way to Remove Germs and Pesticides from Your Kitchen

Fresh fruits are healthy and delicious. We never leave the local grocery without fruit of some type or another. As yummy as apples, oranges, grapes and assorted other fruits are - have you stopped to wonder how many others have handled the fruits and vegetables from the market? The only way to know how clean your fruits and veggies are, is to home grow and organically clean them.   If you are unable to grow your own produce, chances are you buy at the local grocer, too, Here is a little insight regarding the food we eat:

By coating fruits and vegetables with wax, the grocery can keep the itmes stocked longer. Also consider the pesticides used on your produce while they are still growing. Even organic produce, which is free of harmful pesticides, they are still passed through several hands on the way to the market.

Washing your vegetables and fruit in water might not be enough to eliminate the germs. Another option to consider is making your own organic fruit wash.

Here is what you will need:  a large pitcher, 1 cup of white vinegar and 1 TBs of baking soda, 25 drops of grapefruit seed extract, 1 spray bottle. Note: this recipe will make enough wash to last for 1 month.
First:  pour the cup of water, white vinegar and baking soda in a large pitcher
Second: add 25 drops of grapefruit seed extract
Third:  mix and pour into spray bottle.
Now you are ready to spray. Spray the wash, coating food, let it stand for at least 5 minutes before rinsing, then run water over the fruit.
You might just be surprised at the dirt and chemicals that wash from the fruit.

What I like about being in real estate?

What I like about being in real estate? I can work flexible, yet sometimes long hours. I am able to adjust my own schedule as to never miss my two son’s important events. As far as income, the sky is the limit.

Real Estate is my calling. I have found my “home”. I can be myself. I love guiding buyers and sellers through what could be a stressful and complicated situation. I like to keep in mind to me this is my career, what I do daily but most people only experience a real estate transaction a few times during their entire lifetime.

The unknown is scary. I know I get nervous going to the doctor because I do not always know what to expect. When I have a nurse or physician who takes their time to explains each step to me it calms me. I want to give that same calming feeling to my Buyers and Seller. In the event, we may think the deal is falling about, there is always a solution. No one has ever died from a real estate deal gone wrong.

People choose to have a Realtor on their side, not merely to stick a sign in the yard or unlock the secret box. It is to lead them through a major life experience which could otherwise be frightening.

Each person has a calling in life. Selling real estate is not saving lives but I love aiding my customers/clients during a memorable moment in their lives.

The most gratifying aspect of being a Realtor would be the hugs when a Buyer first receives the keys to their new home, or when a Buyer calls me back years later to upgrade/downsize and tells me how they loved their home or when I get a call from a referral of a past client/customer. That is what I “love” not “like” about Real Estate.
